The first Clinohumite in gem quality was discovered in Russia in 1983. In 2005 the second deposit of gem quality Clinohumite was discovered in Tanzania.
Clinohumite is a very rare gemstone. Related to humite which was named after Sir Abraham Hume (1749-1838), Hume was a English collector of gemstones, minerals, and art.
